Eugene M. Shuboy III ("Gene") has lived in the Sarasota/Bradenton area since 2010 and first relocated to Florida in 2003 to attend law school. As a native of Michigan, Gene held a Michigan builder's license, and was a partner in a small real estate development company while obtaining his undergraduate degree. He also worked as a journeyman carpenter building high-end custom homes, and held supervisory and management positions with a commercial general contractor specializing in institutional construction in Detroit and its surrounding suburbs. Gene received his B.A. from Western Michigan University and his Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, where he also earned a Certificate in Sports Law.

Gene has experience drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts including, but not limited to, commercial master agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and construction contracts. Gene also has experience representing clients in real estate and construction disputes, including commercial, residential and condominium defective construction claims; construction liens; insurance coverage matters; bond claims; OSHA matters; and other disputes involving the design and construction of commercial/industrial projects, residential projects including condominiums, retails centers, hotels, and highways.

Gene is a member of The Florida Bar; The Construction Law Committee (Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar); and, The Sarasota County Bar Association. In his free time, Gene enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, is an avid sports fan and enjoys fishing and golfing.

Data Security Breach - In the event of any breach of security, meaning unauthorized access of data in electronic from containing Personal Information, involving 500 or more individuals, the Firm will provide notice of such breach to the Florida Department of Legal Affairs as expeditiously as possible, but no later than 30 days after determination of the breach or reason to believe a breach occurred, in accordance with Florida Statutes Section 501.171(3)(a) (2015). Further any such breach of security will be expeditiously reported to the Sarasota Police. Notice of any such security breach shall be given in each individual whose Personal Information was, or reasonably believed to have been accessed as a result of the breach, as expeditiously as practicable and without unreasonable delay in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statutes Section 501.171(4)(a) (2015).
